Our senior leadership team recently attended Australia’s largest gathering of professionals working to prevent family and gender-based violence.
Here at Destination Accessible, we’re always looking and embracing learning opportunities on this issue so we can provide an informed service.
Our team was at the PreventX 2026 conference hosted by Safe and Equal at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from Tuesday, March 25 to Wednesday 25.
Accessibility as prevention was a key theme. That is because accessible environments, information and services are shown to reduce risk, isolation and barriers to safety.
Organisational readiness was also highlighted. Genuine collaboration with lived experience requires organisations to invest in governance, safeguarding frameworks and reflective practice.
“These learnings strongly align with Destination Accessible’s commitment to inclusive, accessible and trauma informed practice as part of our accommodation and SIL service,’’ Destination Accessible COO Melonie Sheehan says.
